TravisMathew Yelp Event -The State of Men's Athleisure Style

Last Thursday I had the privilege of attending a Yelp Elite event at TravisMathew inside their Century City location for a first hand look at how the brand is bringing style to men’s activewear.
The decade-old SoCal “athleisure” brand was recently acquired by Callaway Golf, one of the largest suppliers of golfing clubs and gear on the market. This makes perfect sense for the sporting giant to take on TravisMathew as the brand is seasoned in providing quality activewear for the discerning gentleman. Not to mention it’s named after professional golfer Travis Matthew (two T’s?) Johnson.
Long gone are the stuffy 'Caddyshack' style golfing attire of our forefathers. These are the days where a guy can have a stylish look and be A-game ready.
Quality comfort and breathable fabric are key components most guys look for in new sports duds. TravisMathew pulls these together with a SoCal flair that makes it unique. There is certainly a conservative feel to their approach on active fashion, which is common for men’s wear in general and even more so for golfwear. The brand is also a great alternative for guys that may not feel comfortable getting their apparel at Lululemon, or want to set themselves apart from the crowd wearing Under Armour, Nike, and the like.
The Yelp event was a perfect way to really get to know not just the brand as a whole but the local store located in the remodeled Westfield Century City Mall. It didn’t hurt that Panini Kabob Grill provided a delicious Mediterranean spread of chicken, rice and hummus. Sugarfina also provided a make-your-own treat station with tiny chocolates and sea creature gummies. The shop even provided cold Lagunitas and Stella Artois on tap. Shopping with a refreshing cold beer really does enhance the experience.
